Notice: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

March 14, 2020
Dear Friends in Christ,
The latest information from the CDC warns of the emerging, rapidly evolving situation involving the coronavirus (COVID-19). Community interventions can minimize the risk and reduce the impact of the disease, especially among those most vulnerable: age 60 and over, those with heart or lung disease; and those with diabetes.

With increased concern for the well-being of our community, the Session has voted to suspend in-person worship and all on-site group gatherings from today until the end of March. We will reassess the situation at that time to decide how to proceed from that point. The Presbytery ofFlorida will be recommending a similar plan to all the member churches in our area.

I plan to be providing short messages, Bible readings, meditation, and prayer opportunities on the church website, Facebook, and YouTube during this time. If any of you would like to contribute to these messages, please contact me.

It is very important that we continue to care for one another and for the most vulnerable in our communities during the crisis. Let us offer compassion and assistance to our friends in any ways we can (phone calls, emails, text messages, personal calls if you prefer under special circumstances), while remembering to take proper precautions for personal health and safety.

Feel free to contact me with any concerns you have, whether related to the virus or not. I am always here to serve, comfort, and guide you as your pastor.

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
