» Many thanks to all who have contributed to the improvements around the church buildings and grounds.

» M.G. Moran deserves special kudos for his repairs, painting, landscaping, and supervision. He caused quite a stir in the community as the steeple was parked in the north lot for painting during the reroofing project. We even made the evening news when the giant forklift came to reset it on top of the sanctuary!

» Led by Elder and Property Committee member, Jim March, a good team of workers attacked the landscaping, weeding, and outside clean-up at the recent workday. Glad we have folks who like to dig in the dirt!

God gave humankind responsibility to care for the good creation.

Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”  So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”  God said, “See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food.  And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.  God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. Genesis 1:26-31

One way we can be faithful stewards is to recycle our used paper, plastic, and aluminum products. There are 2 large garbage cans in the hallway outside Fellowship Hall. Church members are encouraged to deposit items and we will recycle them so that our earth may be renewed and restored. Thanks!

Some ideas for activities to nurture your spirit this summer.

  • If you are out of town, go to a church in the area.
  • Bring back ideas for fun and fellowship for our church family to share.
  • Make a list of the wonders of God’s creation around you.
    • Can you “see” God’s face in the clouds?
    • Can you “hear” God’s voice in the waves, in the breeze, or in the rain?
    • How many different kinds of flowers, trees, bugs can you find?
  • Share your favorite Bible story with the other members of your family or with your friends.
  • Pray together every day – for safety, health, and happiness.
  • Name at least one thing each day for which you are thankful.
  • ***Add your own ideas!!!***

Food Pantry

For over 30 years the Fort Walton Beach Community has been served by the folks at this organization as they provide food assistance for local individuals and families in need. First Presbyterian Church offers a building on our campus to house this important ministry. We collect non-perishable food and hygiene items and monetary donations on the 1st Sunday of each month.

Don’t let the shelves get empty! Remember to fill the grocery cart, especially during the summer when people are away from their normal schedules.  We can all help!
