Join us for a special Worship service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 30th, 2024 to honor Jackie Hails followed by a retirement reception immediately following the Worship Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. πŸŽ‰This will be your opportunity to bid farewell to Jackie as she retires as our Director of Music, Organist, and Pianist.🎢🎡

Jackie Hails, a native of Northwest Florida, has been a beloved member of the FPC staff since January 2000. A graduate of Niceville High School, she earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Jackie dedicated 30 years to teaching music in Okaloosa County public schools, with 22 years as the choral director at Choctawhatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach.

As the daughter of a Southern Baptist pastor, Jackie has been serving churches in Florida, Missouri, and Louisiana in various musical roles since the age of 15. At FPC, she has led the Sanctuary Choir, Handbell Choir, and has been an integral member of the Worship Team.

Come celebrate Jackie’s remarkable career and contributions to our church community. We look forward to seeing you there!

This June and July, our church will be collecting new twin-sized sheets and comforters in bright colors or patterns to support A Bed 4 Me Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Their mission is to ensure that children have a place of their own to sleep each night. πŸ›οΈ

We recognize the critical role of sleep in a child’s development, health, academic performance, and self-esteem. A Bed 4 Me Foundation qualifies each child and provides a bedding kit at no cost to the families, serving children ages 2-18 from low to middle-income families within the Okaloosa and Walton County area.

Position Name: Music Director / Church Pianist / Organist
Employment Status: Part-time (10-15 hours per week)
Work Hours: Various

Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Music Director / Pianist / Organist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and the ability to play the piano with skill and emotion.

🎢 Experience in planning church worship services
🎹 Proficient in playing the piano with a strong musical background
🎼 Ability to read sheet music and play by ear
🀝 Strong communication and interpersonal skills


  • Plan Worship Services
  • Be prompt, prepared, and play for all regular/special worship services and rehearsals
  • Schedule and rehearse with soloists
  • Play for other music-related activities in the church
  • Provide schedules of music to be performed and performance dates well in advance to choir members and the Office Administrator
  • Arrange for a replacement when planning to be absent and inform the office administrator
  • Submit articles for the church newsletter featuring musical themes
  • Report to the Pastor and the Session through the Worship Committee
  • Attend Worship Committee meetings and perform other duties as requested by the Pastor and/or Worship Committee
